Kat Downs is a Musician, Composer, and Lyricist originally from Green Bay, Wisconsin (U.S.A.).  Most well-known for her intense piano playing style and exceptional lyrical compositions for the powerhouse Hard Piano Rock duo, Sit Kitty Sit, Kat launched a new solo project in 2017 allowing audiences to see her in a new light.  More fragile, vulnerable and at times, painfully dark.

Kat began classical music training at the age of six continuing on to major in music through both high school and college.  When asked about her musical inspiration she said;  “I have music almost constantly running through my head, so I don’t really listen to much or it sounds like noise.  My inspiration comes from the sounds around me.  The hum of cars on the road, or odd rhythm of so many feet walking at the same time.  Once a whole song was born from hearing a rope slap continually against a flagpole.”  Her unique perspective shows clearly in her distinct songwriting style.

Kat tours internationally and has shared the stage with such names as LP, Birdeatsbaby, Peter Case, Chris Wyse, En Esch, Mona Mur, Erica Dilanjian, Lennon, Javier Mosley, and WASP.
